Before the era of cell phones and texting, people communicated with telegrams. Since senders of telegrams paid by the letter, long words would cost more. Hence the term, “50¢ words.” 50¢ words are longer words with bigger worth.

In the Christian world, we throw around a lot of weighty words without stopping to consider their meanings. Words like justification, righteousness, and sovereignty (to name a few). In 2021, each week we will take a 50¢ word and wring it out for all its worth. Not only will we seek to understand its meaning, we’ll seek to apply it to our lives in our living out of the Gospel.
